Fusible Applique Class, April 7th
Lynn Rinehart, our Vice President of Education & Community Service has graciously volunteered to teach a Fusible Machine Applique class to the Guild. She is doing this on a voluntary basis in order to keep the costs low. We have had several requests for applique classes, so this is a great start. This will be helpful for quilters of all skill levels, but especially for those who are wanting a handle on different types of applique. The class will be held on April 7, immediately following our monthly meeting at Intown Quilters in Decatur. We will take a small break for lunch (a list of eateries is included at the bottom), and then start the class around 1:30 p.m. If you would like to bring a lunch or snack, Intown Quilters is kind enough to let us use their refrigerator. The cost of the class is $10 for paid AMQG members, $15 for non-members. You can pay by PayPal by using the appropriate buttons below, you can pay Rae Green in person at the sew-in on March 15, the retreat on March 31, or you can mail a check or money order to her. Please contact her at ga7peach@gmail.com for your payment options outside of PayPal. The deadline to register for this class is April 5. We have a limit of 20 participants due to classroom size, and you are not considered registered until you have paid for the class (first come, first served). The photo above shows the project you will be making in this class. The techniques Lynn is teaching includes:
- Solid fused applique
- Doughnut applique
- Applique stitches
- Blanket stitch
- Zig zag stitch

- 1 /2 yard of Wonder Under or Heat and Bond lite (make sure it is paper backed)
