- Amy talked about the updates to the blog on the guild website and everyone was asked to fill out the blog/social media form to be included on the public member page.
Treasurer
- Rae announced that membership dues are due this month and new membership forms will need to be filled out, even for renewing members.
- Name tags and membership cards will be ready by the July meeting.

- Alison reviewed the information for our Fall Retreat. It will be held November 9-11 at Georgia Baptist Center in Toccoa, GA. Please visit our Retreat page for more details.
- The Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild is offering a Free Motion Quilting workshop taught by Pam to be held on June 23rd at 1pm at Tiny Stitches. There is a 10 person limit on the class so please reserve your spot here soon!
- A non-guild sanctioned but highly recommended class is the Precision Machine Piecing workshop taught by Wanda at Little Quilts. The classes will be held on Thursday, June 21 from 10-3 and again on Saturday, August 25 from 10-3.
- The East Cobb Quilt Guild Quilt Show has been moved up to June 2013. The new submission date for the show will be announced soon.
- Our monthly sew in is at June 21st Tiny Stitches from 5-9pm and is $2 for members. Come join us!
Andi and Rae announced a very exciting opportunity for AMQG to collaborate with the East Cobb Quilt Guild by holding a juried exhibit called "Thoroughly Modern Quilts" displayed at The Mable House in Mableton, GA in January 2013. Each guild will display 30 quilts no bigger than lap size. Submissions must be submitted by November 2012. The details are still being worked out and will be announced as soon as we get them. November isnt too far off so its not too soon to start thinking about your submission!
Andi demonstrated the assembly of the BOM's into a table runner wrapping up the final step in our FreeSpirit Jay McCarroll Habitat Challenge. If you would like to give your blocks to the Guild, we will use them to create a quilt to donate to charity.
This months discussion covered different methods of sandwiching and a demonstration by Andi on how to make bias binding. Here is the link for the step by step instructions on how to make your own bias binding. Anita shared with us how to create a spray basting wall in your garage which will not only save your back and knees but lots of time as well. Here is a link to the video where she learned the technique.
Amy spoke about do.good stitches, a large group of quilters on Flickr who make quilts for various children's charities. If you'd like more information or to join, here's a link to the group.

We discussed that the Wellspring house quilts deadline is by the end of the year. It was also discussed that we would make toiletry bags or drawstring bags for the girls/women at the Fall Retreat. Please take a look at our Wellspring page for more details.
